Port Phillip Matters
25 May 2026
Sadly, the war against cars in Port Phillip continues, and it does so in the guise of “more bike lanes,” “lower speed limits,” and “traffic-calming features,” all of which translate into fewer car parks and ever more constricted road traffic all over Port Phillip. We devote a significant portion of this PPM edition to informing our readers what the latest Council proposal means and how you can actively help oppose. this relentless battle against the automobile. We also hear a well-articulated reflection from Cr. Thomann on the recent vote to strengthen community safety laws, share insight on how concerned residents are fighting inappropriate development, and, last but not least, we invite you to our mid-winter fun-filled fundraiser on 30 July!
