Councillors will vote to adopt the Roadmap to Zero: Safe Travel Strategy at the council meeting at 6:30 pm on Wednesday 5^th of August. This will be your last chance to influence councillors by speaking at the council meeting. We consider that the approach taken by council in respect of the Safe Travel Strategy does not support the safety concerns of residents in a manner that they would be comfortable living with - as evidenced by the petition submitted to council with nearly 600 signatures - and consequently ROPP’s position is that the relevant item of the meeting should not be approved by council. Thank you to everyone who attended our fundraising event on 30 July. Our event was well attended with over 100 people joining us in a warm and inviting Heros Lounge at the St Kilda RSL. We raised awareness of our public advocacy and campaign plans, and we raised a considerable sum of money to support candidates both new and existing in the next Council elections. A massive thank you to our volunteers who organised the event, provided delicious food, helped sell tickets and donated gifts for the main auction and silent auction. A special thanks to Dave Hughes who volunteered his time to speak as a Port Phillip resident. Dave was entertaining, insightful and shared his love of living in St Kilda.
