On Monday 29 June, five of the nine Port Phillip Councillors voted to increase rates and charges in a cost-of-living crisis. The only Councillors to vote against the rates rises were the three Councillors who were endorsed and supported by the Residents of Port Phillip. Cr Beti Jay, Cr Rod Hardy and Deputy Mayor Bryan Mears voted against increasing rates to give relief to the ever-compounding growth of rates revenue paid by you.

With your help, Residents of Port Phillip is seeking to elect at least five like-minded Councillors who will campaign to reduce rates by cutting wasteful spending and finding efficiencies in the bloated bureaucracy.

Reducing rates can only be achieved by having a majority i.e. at least 5 of the 9 Councillors vote against rate increases.

Furthermore, RoPP will seek to improve community safety, ensure road traffic interventions are proportionate and sensible (remember the disastrous and dangerous 38 km of Pop-Up bike lanes, and the proposed removal of 120 car parking spaces on Inkerman St and radical changes to Kerferd Road ), revitalise our once iconic shopping and hospitality precincts, and protect heritage and amenity.
