Councillor Bryan Mears is proud to announce a bold and exciting step forward for Lakeside Ward.

For the first time ever, a long-term strategic plan is being developed specifically for our community — and it’s been made possible through Bryan’s advocacy and commitment. In a city of nine diverse wards, Lakeside has often waited while other areas received attention. But now, it’s our turn.

With the skyline of St Kilda Road and Queens Road rapidly transforming, the future is arriving fast. Population growth is accelerating, and so are the challenges — but with smart planning, we can turn these into opportunities. This is our moment to imagine and design a thriving, inclusive, and connected Lakeside for the years ahead.

Bryan has already begun engaging with Council Officers and key stakeholders to map out the needs of a dynamic inner-urban community. But the most important voices are still to be heard — yours.

Very soon, you’ll be invited to share your ideas, your hopes, and your vision. While we all live with the short-term frustrations of construction noise and traffic disruptions, let’s look beyond that — to what comes next.

The future of Lakeside Ward is being written now. What part will you play?

Together, let’s build a community we’re proud to call home.
