Thank you to everyone who attended our fundraising event on 30 July. Our event was well attended with over 100 people joining us in a warm and inviting Heros Lounge at the St Kilda RSL. We raised awareness of our public advocacy and campaign plans, and we raised a considerable sum of money to support candidates both new and existing in the next Council elections.

A massive thank you to our volunteers who organised the event, provided delicious food, helped sell tickets and donated gifts for the main auction and silent auction. A special thanks to Dave Hughes who volunteered his time to speak as a Port Phillip resident. Dave was entertaining, insightful and shared his love of living in St Kilda.

I would like to thank Councillors Beti Jay, Rod Hardy and Bryan Mears who are committed to represent residents and for volunteering their time to speak at the event and network with guests.  I acknowledged Cr Jay, Cr Hardy and Deputy Mayor Mears for their sacrifice, service and commitment to supporting ratepayers, residents and businesses owners. They are committed to represent our community and not political parties and vested interests.

Residents of Port Phillip is seeking to identify highly capable and motivated candidates who agree with our values and beliefs policies to run at Council elections.  We are looking for potential candidates, so let us know if you are interested or know someone who is motivated to represent residents.

As a community-based volunteer organisation, we can only exist to support residents, through the generous donations. Residents of Port Phillip aim to help elect at least five like-minded Councillors who will put residents first, reduce rates by cutting wasteful spending and finding efficiencies.
