May – a Month of Important Safety and Transport Community Meetings

May is shaping up to be a month where quite a bit is happening in the transport and community safety spaces. We invite anyone in the community concerned about the proposed addition of bike lanes and 30 km/h speed laws in around 20 streets to RSVP to attend a Community Meeting on 18 May, and we also encourage concerned residents who support strengthening encampment laws to come to speak at the Council meeting on 6 May when Council will vote on this measure.

We also check in on what progress has been made since the roundtable on community safety one year ago, and we hear from Deputy Mayor Bryan Mears on how Council is strengthening resident safety in the face of burgeoning use of e-bikes and e-scooters.
