Who is ROPP?

  • ROPP believes Port Phillip is better served by independent Councillors who represent residents, ratepayers, and businesses.
  • ROPP is a grassroots community association that advocates on behalf of residents and business owners for sensible decisions, responsible spending and lower rates and charges.
  • ROPP ran an election campaign for three independent candidates and two were elected: Cr Rhonda Clark and Cr Christina Sirakoff.

What has ROPP achieved?

 

  • Removed 38km of unnecessary and dangerous pop-up bike lane infrastructure.
  • Stopped the replacement of two lanes of vehicle traffic with protected bike lanes in Kerferd Road.
  • Delivered rates relief by passing a $10 million budget surplus back to residents in 2023-24.
  • Port Phillip was the only Council in Victoria that did not increase rates by the maximum amount in 2023-24.
  • Elected two Councillors to ensure the voice of residents is represented.
  • Stopped the dangerous and irresponsible building of public toilets near the entrance of St Kilda Park Primary School. This was destined to become a drug den.
  • Made the concerns of residents heard in Council chambers.
  • Improved local laws to help with anti-social behaviour and furniture on our streets
