WHY AM I STANDING AS A CANDIDATE?

The most important thing for a healthy local community is the independence of its council.

I am running for Council in Albert Park Ward. I live in Middle Park, and I am a member of Victoria Police and currently working within the Finance and Cyber-Crime Divisions, Crime Command.

I have extensive leadership experience, being elected to positions including an executive member of the Victoria Police Association, a Councillor in the Shire of Newham and Woodend and the inaugural Mayor in the Shire of Macedon Ranges.

I am proud to say I have the support and endorsement of the Residents of Port Phillip, Inc. and Cr Sirakoff as she is passing the baton to me to continue her excellent work and unwavering efforts to represent residents.

My aim is to put residents first and politics last

MY KEY PRIORITIES ARE:

  1. Put Residents First - To be truly independent by listening to the whole community: residents, traders, renters and ratepayers instead of pandering to vested minority interests.
  2. Immediate rates freeze – An immediate rate freeze by finding efficiencies without cutting services. Holding council accountable for excessive spending - $250M and bloated bureaucracy of 850 staff.
  3. Protect Heritage and Amenity – Strongly protect the heritage and amenity of Albert Park and Middle Park.
  4. Customer Service – Improve Council’s customer service to meet the needs of residents.
  5. Support Dog Owners – By introducing dog poo bags in our parks and beaches.
  6. Community Safety – Cleaning up our streets. Safer, cleaner, free of antisocial behaviours, street campers and drugs. Making it safe to walk our streets again and rebuilding our destitute retail streets.

I look forward to meeting you and listening to your issues and expectations for a better future in Port Phillip.
